Inspired from one episode of Mater Chef Australia, where contestant were challenged to cook Mashed Potato in order tp get the wild card and back into the game after eliminated. This drove me to search recipe and guidance How to Cook in You tube. Fortunately, I found one video which shown clear do and don't of cooking Mashed Potato. Hope it get your taste in it as My husband did :)
Recipe
- 1 kg potato, peel off and cut evenly
- 250 ml milk or can be replaced by cream
- 2 tablespoons of margarine (if you have butter, it will be better)
- 3 pcs od celery (or as needed)
- Salt, Pepper, Sugar (as needed)
How To
- Rinse the potato, put into pot and boiled using normal water - never use the boiled water. Add 2,5 tablespoon of salt into the water to give taste into the potato itself. It will take 35 till 45 minutes to get soft texture in all part of potato.
- Mash potato using egg whisker until completely torn apart - never use food blender as they will came as sticky potato not mashed potato.
- Cook margarine and milk then add celery, salt, pepper and sugar, stir until boiled.
- Mix the mashed potato and the milk together until you get consistency that you need.
